It was a good test but should probably have some more samples next time so there is a wider gap in the results.

But it definitely gives us a hint at Twister's capabilities, which in my opinion is very outstanding for such an unknown AV. Thanks for the test!

Yep. Personally, i am not very sure on how good Twister would be with "old" (>2 years) malware, since i don't think they were very active in the past, but for recent malware, i think they can stand next to other, more famous AVs.

Test results for A-squared & Ikarus are somewhat of a redundancy inasmuch as A-squared incorporates Ikarus. However -- not a total redundancy because A-squared also uses Mamutu (da beeg Mamu) plus a few additional sigs from Emsisoft's own trove (maybe).

I am gratified by TAV's excellent detection rate, although a tad surprised at TAV's zero FPs.

I hope that PCSL will do a proactive (0-day) test one of these days. I would be interested to see TAV's FDD show us what it's got.

I am quite sure that there weren't many clean files or Twister would have really flagged FPs. I mean, if you looked at Wilders' all 170 Gimp's plugins were flagged as Zhelatin! Seeing Twister with 0 FPs in a test, is a matter of sheer luck!

Yes, that would be interesting. But my guess anyway, is, that it would score better than most AVs. Even in samples that on demand couldn't catch, from the few i tested, Twister would often flag something if executed, even if it was simply a registry alert. It may be not enough to stop a malware always, but it's still an effective way of warning you that something odd is going on.

I am quite confident about Twister's proactive ability compared to many other AVs. Where they can improve is signatures and False positives. And of course for the new version, i hope for a more smart FDDS too. Now that would be awwweeeesome!

After I've seen these result,
I'm strongly recommended Filseclab entered Av-comparatives test.
Because previous test Kingsoft failed by got low score in detection and false positives.
